(New York City) Director, Scientific Services – The Director, Scientific Services must have extensive experience in scientific strategy, medical communications and excellent writing and reviewing skills. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide strategic scientific direction and guidance on key accounts and to manage the editorial staff. This individual may have responsibility for editorial quality and standards, scientific integrity, mentoring, proactivity, and resource management on some accounts.
Requires strong people- and project-management skills as well as motivational skills.
Must have excellent client management and strategic counseling skills. An ability to understand product, market, marketing objectives and to provide relevant counsel and advice is also essential.
A PhD in a scientific field, PharmD, or MD is highly desirable. A master’s degree in a scientific field coupled with strong client counseling experience might serve instead. Medical communications agency or relevant Pharma/Biotech industry experience is essential. Experience working in endocrinology, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease highly desirable.
