(New York) National Account Manager, Mass Market Sales – This major book publisher is seeking a National Account Manager, Mass Market Sales. In this role he / she will manage all sales to mass market retailers and wholesalers, as well as be responsible for increasing the company’s overall profile in the mass market channel. Extensive experience within the book publishing industry as well as strong relationships with buyers are required.

Responsibilities Include:
• Developing, managing and directing sales into the mass market including all airports, grocery, and mass market accounts associated to this channel.
• Providing insight and feedback on customer preferences, retail trends, and merchandising needs.
• Working with management on inventory planning and reserves.
• Strategizing with editorial and product teams to maximize planogram, seasonal, and promotional placement.
• Maintaining knowledge of competitive titles and market conditions, as well as advertising and promotional activities.
• Maintaining strong relationships with buyers and collaborating strategically when appropriate.

Requirements/Skills Include:
• 5 years of book publishing industry experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the mass market and club channels.
• License and brand promotion experience a plus.
• Ability to multitask in an entrepreneurial setting and efficiently manage time, priorities, and resources.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Team player with a "can do" attitude that can work in a fast paced environment.
• Up to 20% travel required.
