VP, Planner

(NYC) Medical communications agency seeks a VP, Planner. This role is responsible for all planning activities on their specific accounts; assigned new business pitches; and secondary support of other village planning business.  This will be a highly visible, client facing position.  The VP, Planning role will be expected to work collaboratively across the village and with multiple layers within the client.  This roll, with U.S. and global responsibilities, reports to the Chief Strategy Officer. This is an opportunity to disrupt the existing agency model and make a difference.



·         Assist peers, providing strategic & planning input at critical junctures

·          Identifies potential opportunities for existing products and new business efforts

·         Serve as primary client-facing planner on assigned accounts 

·         Effectively partner with teams to grow strategic services with clients 

·         Propose, sell and lead key strategic/planning workshops and initiatives for assigned clients 

·         Develop deep understanding of assigned brands, category and competitive set 

·         Serve as lead planner on new business pitches, from internal preparation through presentation

·          Apply insights to develop compelling brand story for clients and new business

·          Effectively craft creative briefs and brief teams

·          Execute thought leadership initiatives, including trendspotting




·         Broad therapeutic experience within the oncology class (IO, cytotoxic, supportive care, etc) across multiple tumor types, and/or benign or malignant hematology; 

·         Client side experiences a plus; Agency experience a must;

·         Comfort within a role of direct and indirect leadership and influence; 

·         Entrepreneurial approach, agile leadership style

·         Ability to travel internationally, including weekends
