Senior Vice President, Production Operations

(California) A successful SVP, Production Operations will be a dynamic operations leader with demonstrated experience in content workflow management, print pre-production and  managing digital vendors delivering continuous process improvement.  This leadership role will be pivotal to create and execute a strategic plan while managing costs, increasing productivity and enhancing team performance.

Responsibilities Include:

·         We are looking for a strategist in organization and process design who has a track record of successfully implementing best practices and forward looking solutions to increase efficiencies throughout the editorial, design, production and manufacturing process while also increasing operational effectiveness.

·         You will drive quality improvement initiatives, develop and implement technology and tools to compress time to market and partner with company leaders to achieve company-wide initiatives to continue to double our new title production year over year.

·         You will work closely with company’s President and CFO in this role.

·         Provide an integrated proactive project management system and collaborate across internal functions, and with external vendors, to streamline processes and normalize our production operations around best practices.

·         Manage and improve processes to existing schedules and reduce delays by ensuring editorial and creative staff are aligned.

·         Lead and develop new processes for the adoption of new pre-production and digital platforms to drive down costs and increase productivity.

·         Create and lead metrics driven process to ensure teams are working at maximum capacity to meet goals and scale effectively.

·         Hands-on leader who has a long track record of successfully manage workflows of editorial, design and production, manufacturing and operations teams.   

·         Provide ongoing vendor management to ensure quality and manage cost.

Required Skills/Experience Include:

·         10+ years of experience leading innovative initiatives in production, manufacturing and operations for a book publishing company.
