(Boston, MA) Academic publisher hiring a Senior Editorial Director for its Education & Learning Product Development group. This role will lead an effort to infuse educational content with a much deeper sense of consumer media. Ideal candidates will have a consumer media background and who can bring an editorial vision to life. Ability to work across a variety of editorial formats including story animation, video, audio, infographics, interactives, simulations and text. This role will also be charged with creating content that can be used in teaching and learning environments, such as classrooms and online learning.
Lead an editorial team and create an ecosystem of contributors and flexible staffing options.
Define editorial vision, style, tone and voice for all educational products.
Set strategic direction for editorial team members for the Higher Ed and Corporate Learning markets.
Partner with product management to ensure that editorial and product roadmaps stay in sync.
Work with marketing to ensure that content is meeting the needs of market development and thought leadership strategies.
Test new formats with audiences and measure responses.
Support the Vice President of ELPD in strategic planning, goal setting and measurement, budgeting and resource planning efforts.
At least 10 years of experience in digital based content creation
At least 10 years of direct report management experience
Demonstrated experience developing content on business and leadership topics
Solid technical grounding including understanding of content management systems, metric tools, digital content creation toolsets
Experience working with intellectually challenging material
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, academia and corporate customers
