Senior Editorial Director

(Boston, MA) Academic publishing company seeking a Senior Editorial Director to lead an effort to infuse educational content with a much deeper sense of consumer media. This role will be an advocate for the learners, readers, and users who come to company products via different paths, and will be charged with creating content that can be used in teaching and learning environments, such as classrooms and online learning. Customers for this content come from both corporate environments and institutions of higher education.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Define editorial vision, style, tone and voice for all educational products

  • Lead editorial team and set strategic direction

  • Work with marketing to ensure that content is meeting the needs of market development and thought leadership strategies

  • Support the Vice President in strategic planning, goal setting and measurement, budgeting and resource planning efforts

  • Collaborate with the Product Design and UX practice area to ensure the development of easy to use and engaging learning experiences

  • Collaborate with other company business units to leverage their content/learning design for the HE and CL markets


Position Requirements:

  • Consumer media or online learning background

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in digtal-based content creation

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in director report management

  • Demonstrated experience developing content for business education and corporate leadership development

  • Solid technical grounding including understanding of content management systems, metric tools, digital content creation toolsets
